The Bach Doctor Press is a boutique publishing house in Aotearoa/New Zealand

Darin Dance started his own publishing and photography business in 2014: The Bach Doctor Press after researching and taking photographs for many book projects while working collaboratively with fellow Kāi Tahu writers.

He is a born and bred New Zealander of Māori (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe and Waitaha) and Gaelic Celtic (Scottish and Irish) and Brythonic Celtic (Welsh) descent and has been an Operations, Production, Events Manager and Mentor, Coach for the last twenty five years in New Zealand.

His mission is to promote our unique kōrero and pakiwaitara (stories and legends) with respect and good humour.

Darin has always loved reading, is a staunch book club member, attending many reading and writing festivals all the while hunting down “out of print” books in charity shops and other odd places to add to his own extensive library.

His other interests include playing golf rather badly after finally giving away his touch rugby days, researching his whakapapa (ancestry), gardening and preserving, gathering kai moana (seafood), preparing rongoā māori (Māori plant based medicine), tramping and completing half marathons, as well as exploring the wonderful beaches of our beautiful country in search of surfing that elusive ‘perfect’ wave.
